Tijdens wandelingen met een kleine routekaart en een routebeschrijving lukt het ons zelden om volgens het boekje te lopen. Niet in Nederland en ook niet in Wales. Bij wandeling 23 uit “Walking on The Gower” gaat het mis tussen Llanmadoc en Llangennith na het lezen van de volgende tekst:
This old suncken track leads to the open hillside where you take the path that heads diagonally up the slope to the left. Cross over a path and continue straight ahead with the path climbing to the left. This meets the right of way coming up from the left where you take the path on the right that leads up the gulley on the right ahead.
Gelukkig zijn de meeste wandelingen op the Gower in de buurt van de kustlijn, een mooi richtpunt waar je bijna niet fout kunt lopen.
